Inspiring Women in Business - Be More Dinner

Striding Out is hosting a dinner to celebrate Women's Enterprise Day. The event aims to celebrate inspiring and successful young women in business. We’ve invited a real mix of women; some with inspirational stories and others who are looking for inspiration. It's a chance to meet some amazing women, and to share your ideas, challenges and experiences in a chilled out environment. Plus, it's the perfect excuse to leave work on time!

  • Val Corbett, Associate Director, Training for Life, a social enterprise charity. - Val has had a career in the media spanning national newspapers, magazines and television, and founder director of an independent TV production company. After that, she wrote six novels and now gains far more satisfaction from her job with Training For Life, marketing and promoting their Michelin-recommended training restaurant, the Hoxton Apprentice.
  • Jessica Shortall, Co-Founder of Catalyst Strategy Advisers, a consultancy business to social business clients. - Jessica is the co-founder of The Campus Kitchens Project, a U.S.-based social venture with a network of integrated leadership development, nutrition education, job training, food rescue, and hunger relief programs run by university students. The organisation has been franchised and is now active in more than ten U.S. cities.
  • Maggie MacMillan, Founder of The Style Counsel - Maggie empowers women to feel good and confident in themselves through her dress to impress style consultations. She works her magic with a whole range of clients from mums, celebrities, business professionals to sixth form students.
  • Jobeda Ali, Founder of Fair Knowledge, a social enterprise bringing fresh voices and new perspectives to media audiences. She has been involved in enterprising social and economic develop projects for ten years for various educational institutions including the DfES and LSC. She has also been working independently within the broadcast industry for 3 years as a producer and presenter with both the BBC and Channel
